About Valerian
Used in sleeping drafts and as a remedy for insomnia since the earliest times, the Valerian plant is still used today in sleeping aids. Valerian (Valeriana officinalis) grows widely across Europe and in Asia, can reach heights of up to 1.5metres and has with pink or white flowers. When used as a sleep remedy, the roots of the plant are typically extraxced and crushed.
When trying to sleep better – keep it simple – most of us can improve our sleep by keeping the bedroom free of distractions, avoiding stimulants before bedtime, using
natural sleep-aids where desired, and, of course investing in a good quality supportive mattress.
